We are pleased to announce the renewal and expansion of our fleet with the addition of 100 new Volvo FH Aero trucks. With this strategic investment, we renew our fleet, reaffirming our commitment to the efficiency, sustainability and quality of service that we offer to our customers.
These new trucks will be mainly used on the international routes connecting Andalusia with Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. On their return to the Peninsula, these vehicles will transport goods from these countries to our bases in Spain, thus ensuring a constant and efficient flow of refrigerated products.
The Volvo FH Aero stands out for its innovations in fuel economy and road safety. Thanks to their aerodynamic design, which reduces fuel consumption by 5% compared to previous models, these trucks will allow us to continue operating in a more environmentally responsible way. In addition, the units are equipped with an advanced camera-mounted rear-view mirror system, which not only improves road safety but also contributes to fuel economy.
We are convinced that these new trucks not only represent a significant improvement in terms of efficiency, but also allow us to continue offering high quality service to our customers with less environmental impact. These vehicles are undoubtedly the most efficient in their category, and we are proud to lead the way towards more sustainable transport.
This fleet renewal is part of our ongoing drive for decarbonization. For years, we have worked hard towards this goal and as a result last year we received our first Lean & Green star, an acknowledgement of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions. This year, we are taking a further step forward by incorporating the Michelin Connected Fleet technology into our tyre control systems, which will allow us to further optimise efficient driving in our fleet.
